The Evolution of Sound and Design
Who We Are?
Brazolim is a pioneering brand in the handcrafted manufacturing of high-performance electric violins and cellos. By uniting the tradition of classical lutherie with a futuristic vision, we specialize in creating instruments that are true masterpieces. Our commitment is to provide professional musicians with an instrument that combines perfect ergonomics, precise tone, and an aesthetic that stands out on any stage, reflecting true personality.
How It Began?
Our journey started in the mid-1980s. It all began with a passion for building custom guitars, which quickly evolved into the founding of a luthier workshop dedicated to repairs, setups, and tailor-made builds. This solid foundation in string instruments and electronics paved the way for what would become our trademark: innovation.
Why It Started?
The seed for the Brazolim line was planted in 1997. At the time, Maurício Brazolim played violin in a country band and experienced firsthand the need for an instrument that could withstand the demands of electric sound without losing the instrument's soul. The first prototypes emerged from this real-world stage necessity, seeking a balance between acoustic tradition and the infinite possibilities of modern amplification.
Our Trajectory
With nearly 40 years of experience in the lutherie market, Brazolim has established itself as a benchmark for innovation. In 2009, we introduced our exclusive Aurora and Auro lines to the world. Featuring violins and cellos with wooden components and acrylic bodies—a disruptive alternative to traditional market standards. More than just assembling instruments, we create them from scratch: all electronics, including sophisticated pre-amplification circuits and pickup systems, are developed and produced in-house.
The Team Behind the Brand
The strength of our brand lies in the synergy and technical expertise of brothers Maurício and Gilberto Brazolim. As founders and master luthiers, they combine decades of practical knowledge with a relentless pursuit of technical perfection. Every project undergoes rigorous planning involving ergonomics, aesthetics, and fine-frequency tuning, ensuring the Brazolim name remains synonymous with excellence in both Brazilian and international music.
